About This Treatment

Dr. Chang places and restores dental implants herself — drawing on intensive implantology training accumulated over 28 years of practice. A titanium post is surgically positioned into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone over 3–6 months before a custom crown is attached. Because Dr. Chang handles both the surgical and restorative phases, patients benefit from seamless treatment planning and a result that is designed to match their existing bite and aesthetics precisely. Implants are suitable for single missing teeth, multiple gaps, or as anchors for implant-supported dentures.

Frequently Asked Questions

From the initial assessment to fitting the final crown, the process typically takes 4–8 months. The longest phase is osseointegration — the period during which the titanium post bonds with your jawbone — which takes 3–6 months depending on your bone density and healing rate.

Dr. Chang performs both the implant placement and the crown restoration herself, in-practice. Her intensive implantology training means there is no need to split your care between an oral surgeon and a separate restorative dentist, which also reduces your overall treatment time.

Gum disease must be fully treated and stable before implant placement, but a history of periodontal issues does not automatically disqualify you. Because Dr. Chang also specialises in periodontics, she can treat any active gum disease and then reassess your suitability for implants as part of a single, coordinated treatment plan.
